New PVC-Free Eco-Friendly Plastisol Alternative

|
International Coatings recently announced that it is teaming up with Zydex Industries to bring an outstanding new product to the North, Central and South American markets: a PVC-free, eco-friendly plastisol alternative ink. Click here to read the entire press release on the new partnership.
We will be introducing the new line of products at the upcoming SGIA ’07 show in Orlando, Florida. The Gen IV Series inks will have very similar properties to the traditional plastisol inks you are used to: great opacity, ease of use, smooth viscosity, and printable on automatic equipment. Most amazingly, this high-solids product does not dry on the screen. And it can be used for both direct and transfer printing.
Veteran plastisol screen printers will have no problem converting to this PVC-free plastisol alternative. The finished print has a soft hand with great detail.
As you may know, International Coatings does extensive tests with any products we bring into our product line, and we can attest that this new product performs superbly and passed all our stringent expectations and requirements!
Visit us at SGIA (Booth #956) to see printed samples and learn more about our new partnership with Zydex and Gen IV Series inks! |

New 7900 Low-Cure Inks Conserve Energy
International Coatings premiered its new line of low-cure inks in June at FESPA in Berlin. Curing at 275º F (135º C), this product can save you up to 20% on energy bills. The new 7900 products are part of our UltraMix® Color System line which can be mixed and blended to simulate Pantone® colors. 7900 Series inks are Phthalate-free and low-bleed. A winning combination!
You will be pleased to note that the 7900 color primaries are formulated to boost opacity of mixed colors!
Our New Cotton White = Value
Our 7038 Cotton White ink was developed to provide a cost-effective option for printing on 100% cotton fabrics without skimping on quality or performance. The new 7038 Cotton White has a very creamy viscosity and resists ghosting and fabric discolorations.
Due to its high pigment content, the new 7038 Cotton White is very opaque and provides great coverage for those darker fabric colors. The resulting savings in time and effort can be substantial.
International Coatings is proud to bring you quality products at great value!

Print Technique Spotlight

|
Each month we will now feature a special screen printing technique presented by our very own Ed Branigan.
This month Ed is highlighting the following technique - Caviar Beads with Foil effect. Here’s how it’s done:
For our particular design, only one screen was used. Ed applied IC’s 3809 FX Clear using 110 mesh and 200 micron capillary film.
He then added caviar beads by hand while the adhesive is wet. The design was then cured at 330° F for 1 minute.
When the adhesive was cured, Ed applied silver foil on top of the caviar beads and quickly (1 second) applied the foil with a heat transfer machine. Then he hot peeled, and voila!
Here are the settings Ed used on the heat transfer machine: 350 degrees F, 10 psi for 1 second. |
