Phthalate and Lead Compliance 

Unless otherwise specified, all International Coatings standard ink product formulas manufactured after January 1, 2009 comply with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (CSPIA) regarding lead and phthalate content and the Consumer Product Safety Act, Title 16 CFR Part 1303, regarding restrictions on heavy metals.*

Once we work down our inventory of products that were formulated ahead of the restrictions (which are OK to use for any application other than children’s toys and child care articles), we will no longer offer ink products that contain any of the restricted phthalate plasticizers.  In the meantime, PLEASE BE SURE TO SPECIFY WHEN YOU ORDER IF YOU REQUIRE PHTHALATE COMPLIANT INKS NOW.  And look for the ‘Phthalate Compliant’ sticker on the containers. In addition to our full line of ‘Phthalate Compliant’ inks, International Coatings offers several eco-friendly ink lines that are either Phthalate-Free, or PVC-Free and Phthalate-Free.
