“What’s New?”

This is a question we hear from our distributors and clients often, and this year, we definitely have TONS of new things going on in our booth.  We are showcasing new products, new partnerships, new personnel, and new promotions!
Charlie Taublieb is also back in town and will fill you in on what we are planning to do at the SGIA show.  Read on to find out all the exciting things happening.

Charlie’s Corner

SGIA Orlando will be a great showcase for several new products ICC will be launching plus some products that have been well received in the market.  Charlie Taublieb will be working in our booth and will also conduct two workshops for SGIA- “Multicolor Printing on Darks” and “Printing with Special Effect Inks.”

Our booth has been set-up for printing a different design daily utilizing a different ink each day of the show.

Following is the list of products we will be printing, but not necessarily in this order:

•  Special Effect Inks are still very popular with many of the well known athletic manufacturers and they produce a good percentage of their line with them.  Our High Density Ink is very soft and easy to stack for very high finishes.  It does not require a high speed mixer prior to use and a simple hand stir during the run will keep it flowing.

•  Sponge Pop – ICC’s newest ink product introduction.  This is one of the most versatile products on the market.  It is printed through an 80 mesh/70 micron thread using capillary film from 100 to 400 microns thick.  The design we will be printing will use a 200 micron film.  Depending on the temperature reached in the dryer, the finished print could have a variety of appearances.  Low temperature would result in a glossy, slick finish while higher temperatures will make the ink bubble and rise and leave it with a much less glossy finish.  This is a great product to use instead of puff because it doesn’t pucker the garment, can be squeezed and will recover and is very difficult to collapse.

•  Optilux 505 Reflective Plastisol continues to be one of our most sought after products when reflective inks are required.  We will be printing it with some shimmer added so it looks good whether it is reflecting or not and can be applied on light or dark colored garments.

•  Discharge Inks are one of those products that keeps showing up every ten years or so.  It has been around for a very long time and is again very popular, but ours is different:  Introducing ICC’s new Discharge Ink (it’s so new ICC has not even named it yet).  ICC’s Discharge Ink does not use ZFS as an activator.  Instead, it is Formaldehyde Free and considered a “Green” product.  There is no nasty odor associated with it either.  It is recommended that the garment be washed prior to wearing, just to be safe.
