“THANK YOU” to the distributors and printers who attended our Printing Seminar last week. We enjoyed having you here – some of you even made the journey from far away! We appreciate the positive feedback and comments on the presenters, various breakout sessions, our new products and print samples.
We would also like to extend a special “Thank You” to the presenters who came from all over the country to give their expert presentations: Charlie Taublieb on artwork and trends, Rolley Bateman on screen stretching, Richard Greaves on emulsions and capillary film, and Shannon Boothe on M&R equipment. “Thank You” also to our International Coatings presenters: Kent Hudson on inks, Ed Branigan on manual and special effects printing and Kieth Stevens on automatic printing.
Many of you expressed interest in more training seminars. We will definitely put our heads together to come up with new seminars early next year. Of course, we will e-mail you with details once we finalize our plans. So stay tuned…
Please feel free to call or e-mail us at International Coatings with any printing questions you may have. Whether you want to know more about a particular ink, printing application, or special effects idea, please don’t hesitate to call or e-mail us!
Here are some pictures taken at the Seminar. Further down, you will also find highlights of our newest products.

• Brand New: Granite Base forms into a hard, granite-like print. Great for using to create special effects printing. Can be used to create textured prints. This product is already in production.
• Brand New: BlowOut Base forms into a spongy, puffy, raised print once the it is cured in the dryer. Great for creating textured effects. This product goes into production at the end of December.
• Brand New: International Coatings’ Water-based Discharge Ink works great on dark fabrics to create tonal effects. Look for this product the beginning of the year.
• Brand New: Gen IV PVC-Free, Eco-Friendly Plastisol Alternative Ink made a big splash at the SGIA 07 show. We printed with the ink at the seminar as well to showcase the opacity and the soft feel of the prints. Best of all, the ink does not dry on the screen, and cleans off the screen with water. This product will be available at the end of January 2008.
• UltraMixÒ 7900 Low-Cure, Phthalate-Free Color Mixing Series can save you up to 20% on energy consumption and offers more opaque colors for better coverage on darks.
• 7038 Cotton Value-White is a very opaque white with all the great plastisol qualities you’ve come to expect from IC. And, we are offering this ink at a value price!
• Optilux Reflectives – is the brightest reflective ink and transfer system available on the market today. Both the ink and the transfer products contain innovative microscopic glass beads that reflect light similar to a mirror. Allows for creative uses within a design. The skull image below – printed by Charlie earlier this year at the FESPA 07 show - shows the Optilux mix directly printed onto the garment. See the difference in brightness – right side of the image - when light strikes it.
