International Coatings Celebrates Its 50th Anniversary!
Fifty years ago, Herbert Wells founded International Coatings Company in Los Angeles, California. Mr. Wells, a chemist, quickly established International Coatings as a pioneer in the production of vinyl, urethane and water-based compounds. International Coatings’ textile screen print inks, adhesives, primers, coatings and specialty plastic compounds have become standards in the industry and are recognized world-wide for their performance, quality and innovation.
International Coatings remains one of the few independent, family-owned companies in the textile screen print and plastics compounding industries. And Mr. Wells, who celebrates his 90 th birthday this year, remains active as Chairman of International Coatings.
Mr. Wells’ and International Coatings’ many contributions to the textile screen print industry include products that today are industry benchmarks - multipurpose plastisol inks that can be used for both direct and transfer printing, remarkably durable inks for printing on nylons, high performance super-white inks, special effects inks and specialty adhesives.
International Coatings’ custom industrial compounds are found in cars, toys, medical appliances, water filters, military and aerospace applications, and sports equipment.
Thank you for making International Coatings the success it is today. We take great pride in all that we have accomplished and in the relationships we’ve built and maintained during our first 50 years. We look forward to serving you in the years to come. |
