Cerritos, California – Revolutionary Reflective Textile Printing Products Unveiled

International Coatings™ together with Viz Reflectives unveils its new incredibly reflective Optilux™ ink and transfer systems for the textile and garment industries. Both the ink and the transfer products contain innovative microscopic glass beads that reflect light similar to a mirror, thus making Optilux™ the brightest reflective products in the market. The retro-reflectivity of the product is best displayed when a garment printed with Optilux™ 505 ink or decorated with the transfer system is exposed to a focused beam of light, such as that from a flashlight or an automobile headlight. The glass beads then reflect or return light back to the light source.

The Optilux™ 505 Reflective ink can be printed directly on a variety of substrates, including cotton and/or polyester fabrics as well as some nylons. The ink can be printed as is, mixed with a shimmer product (such as International Coatings' 156 Shimmer Effect ink) or even printed on top of other colors. Optilux™ 505 can be printed through fine meshes so printers realize substantially improved yields, finer detail and a very soft hand.

Optilux™ 505 Ultra Reflective ink can be used as a unique decorative tool to increase nighttime visibility of a printed design. Letters or designs can be outlined or highlighted, or “hidden” motifs can be incorporated that only become visible in a darkened environment. The design possibilities are as endless as the artist’s imagination.

The Optilux™ transfer system, consisting of the 950 transfer adhesive formulated especially for the accompanying 901 reflective transfer sheet, is not only exceptionally bright but offers a remarkably soft hand and outstanding detail. The transfer sheet contains glass beads featuring the same wide-angled retro reflective lenses as in the ink system, but these are temporarily bonded to a polyester substrate. Applied transfers should produce a very bright 500 candlepower reflective light.
